Octavio Tuxtla Garcia ([email protected])
Undergraduate Student in Electrical Engineering
School of Electrical, Computer, and Energy Engineering (ECEE)

Octavio joined the Rolston Lab in the Spring of 2025 as part of the Fulton Undergraduate Research Initiative (FURI) program. Through his research, he will simulate extreme conditions of space and radiation across various semiconducting perovskite materials with the goal of enhancing the structural and compositional stability of perovskites while additionally gaining a greater understanding of the radiation effects on semiconducting devices. He also hopes to explore new ways of preventing and mitigating radiation-induced ion migration within perovskite materials. Outside of the lab, Octavio enjoys spending time with friends and family and loves watching combat sports. He has aspirations of one day becoming the first person to box in space.
