B-LO Zero Project

Project Objectives

The objectives of this project are:
1) Development of a thin-film SSE (< 50 μm) with an areal resistance of 1.5 kΩ cm2 at -40 °C and a fracture energy of at least 10 J/m2.
2) Achieve an SSE with a fracture energy of at least 10 J/m2 and a SSB with a fracture energy of at least 5 J/m2 at -40 °C.
3) Demonstrate an SSE with a Li-metal anode that operates at low temperatures with a high Coulombic efficiency > 98%.
