Alejandro‘s research focuses on materials physics with an application towards discovering and synthesizing more efficient, economical and environmentally friendly renewable energy technologies. Alejandro joined Professor Rolston‘s lab in Summer 2026. Previously, he worked in computational materials physics in simulating new semiconductor materials and calculating their properties to be compared to experimental. He believes the combination of computational simulations and in-lab experimental synthesis will help accelerate the discovery of commercially viable green technology. On his spare time, he enjoys going to the many cultural event shows that the valley has to offer, being outdoors, riding his bike and keeping up with the latest scientific news.
